About Crane Schools
If you’re looking to become a mobile
telescopic crane operator, choosing a crane school is the best place to start.
Prospective operators (and employers) must first decide what type of
certification is wanted: National Commision for the Certification of Crane
Operators (NCCCO), Crane Institute Certification (CIC), National Center for
Construction Education & Research (NCCER) or Operating Engineers Certification
Program (OECP).
Here at American Crane School we help candidates prepare to take their NCCCO
(National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) exams.
Since 2004, American Crane School’s team of
experts have helped thousands of crane operators and certification candidates
across the country to become certified. Let us help you too. Our NCCCO crane
operator certification course is just three days long in an effort to minimize
your time away from the job and during that time we give you all the tools and
knowledge you need to pass!
When it comes to crane training, settle for
nothing less than the best. That’s why we’ve selected the NCCCO mobile
telescopic program. Quite simply, NCCCO certifies around 90% of the crane
operators in the United States and is even recognized at job sites overseas. As
a result, we believe NCCCO is the most valuable crane certification to have
when entering the workforce which is why we offer it to our students.
Regardless of who issues the certification, the exams are built using a variety
of resources that define the laws, regulations and standards governing the crane
industry today. Which standards are being used? Federal OSHA? State OSHA? ANSI?
ASME? Knowing which resources are featured on the test is very important.
Even if you’ve been operating a crane for
years and are just looking to recertify, (or get certified for the first time)
attending a crane school is the best way to get up to speed on the current laws
and regulations as many of them have changed in the last five years. That’s
where we can help. Our class is designed to help you learn and remember everything
you need to know before attempting your written tests (core exam and speciality
exams).
Need more hands on experience? Practice on the
same cranes you’ll be tested on during the NCCCO practical exams! We have fixed
and swing cab mobile telescopic cranes in all of our yards, selected for their
short boom lengths to maximize your chances of passing your practical
(hands-on) tests. Additional seat time is available by the hour and you’ll
spend one on one time with a dedicated training professional who can teach you
the skills needed to pass your practical (hands-on) exams.
By successfully completing your written and
practical mobile crane operator certification exams, NCCCO will issue you a
certification card that allows you to operate any fixed-cab or swing-cab mobile
crane type regardless of size. Designations include: TLL, TSS, BTF and STC.
